Deathloop is designed to be as dark and mysterious as possible. This is intentional. The game is supposed to be a time-killer. The developers have said that they deliberately want to make Deathloop as grimy and creepy as possible. The developers are the ones who are making the game, so it is only right for them to make it as dark and creepy as possible.
