I have to admit, I wasn’t always so concerned with what others thought of my personal life because I had a very low self-esteem. As a kid, I was always a little bit jealous of anyone that I felt did well in school. I was always the one who got the short shrift. In high school, I thought I was a failure due to my low confidence and self-esteem. I wanted to hide and live like I was someone that didn’t belong.
But this was not the case. As a high school freshman, I had the greatest confidence and self-esteem of anyone I knew. It was just the way I was, the way I was supposed to be. I wasn’t going to change. I was just going to do what I thought was right.
It’s only since college that I’ve realized how important self-confidence is. It is just as important as the confidence we gained from the people we surround ourselves with, and it’s just as true of us as it is of anyone else. In fact, it’s even more important because the way we are is so much more important. If we have high self-esteem, we will always succeed, no matter what.
I know I’m saying this a lot, but the best way to learn how to be confident is to learn to be confident. And you know what? That’s exactly what I’m doing. When I started writing this blog, I thought that it was about how confident I was. Now, I think its about how confident I can be. Thanks for stopping by.
