I wanted to take this opportunity to write something that we can all use. Our community is a reflection of who we are. Every individual has a part to play in their community and a responsibility to share their gifts with others. People often say that they love a community, but what they often mean is that they love a person who acts like a community. We believe that if we have a community that is full of community members – that is, each of us is contributing to our community – then it will be a community that is filled with people acting like a community.
I agree. Community is really about all of us, our ability to be open to one another, to share our talents, and to grow together, as a community. We should be doing our part to make our communities a good place to live, and not just a place to be.
