This Squash & Avocado Squish is the ultimate comfort food, one that I enjoy eating with my favorite drink: a cold, minty, refreshing, non-alcoholic beer. It’s my go-to snack when I want to be sated but need the boost of a good meal.
Now that the season is starting to get into full swing, I’m having a harder time eating certain foods because of the lack of variety. It’s hard to find something to keep me satisfied, and this avocado squish is one of those. It’s not necessarily bad (I usually love it), but it’s not so great that I need to use it to feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
I love it. It’s not the same as the ones they have at the airport. These are the ones that I can eat at home, which is a rarity in my life. I usually just stick them in the fridge and have a drink when I’m ready to eat them.
As the avocado itself has turned into a food staple, I think that we can all agree that avocado has become a great alternative to hard-to-find foods like eggs, meat, fish and vegetables. But it turns out that it can also be a great substitute for some of those other more expensive foods. It’s like the best sandwich you can get for a fraction of the cost.
